Specialty Analysis
Alvey Laboratory, Inc. can conduct special analysis of agricultural commodities, input products, soil amendments and seeds. Some examples include the tests listed below. We offer additional analytical procedures that are too numerous to list. If you need it analyzed or tested, Alvey Labs can do it. Contact us by phone or e-mail for more information.
Limestone Analysis: percent Calcium
Carbonate Equivalent (CCE), Sieve Size (8, 30, 60 mesh), Effective
Neutralizing Value (ENV) and the Correction Factor. Submit a composite
sample and include information that contains name, address, telephone
number, field names, number of samples per field and the type of test.
Fertilizer Analysis: Nitrogen (N),
Phosphate (P2O5) and Potash (K2O), micronutrients. Request one or all three
of the nutrients and/or micronutrients. Submit approximately one cup of the
composite sample and include information that contains name, address,
telephone number, field names, number of samples per field and the type of
test.
Manure Analysis: values for Nitrogen (TKN
and ammonia), Phosphate (P2O5) and Potash (K2O), percent Moisture and an
optional pH; additional nutrients on request. Place a composite sample in a
strong, clean plastic container. Fill the container only half full. Do
not fill the container to the top! (Overfilled samples which are
received and “explode” will be charged a “cleanup fee”). Submit a composite
sample and include information that contains name, address, telephone
number, field names, number of samples per field and the type of test.
Biosolids Analysis: as per land
application includes: Total solids, TKN, NH3N, P, K, Zn, Mn, Cu, Ni, Cd and
Pb, Total volatile solids, pH or specific gravity. For an additional charge,
the 503 metals, As, Mo, Hg, Se and Cr and if necessary a percent Calcium
Carbonate Equivalent (CCE) can be obtained. Submit a composite sample and
include information that contains name, address, telephone number, field
names, number of samples per field and the type of test.
Seed Germination: determines the
viability of seeds and a seed count (number of seeds/pound). Warm and cold
germination plus vigor can be determined for any seed lot. Submit one pound
of seed sample and include information that contains name, address,
telephone number, field names, number of samples per field and the type of
test. Seed germination information is strictly confidential.
